Edwards Virtual Physiology Lab Webinar

In this Edwards Virtual Physiology Lab event, review practical and physiological concepts of haemodynamic monitoring across the perioperative and critical care continuum. There will also be a demonstration of the application of the Acumen Hypotension Prediction Index (HPI) software in a variety of physiological conditions and clinical settings.

Part One

What is the Acumen Hypotension Prediction Index

Dr Simon Davies

Introduction to what the Acumen Hypotension Prediction Index software is, how it works, and discuss the value these new parameters may provide.

Part Two

Virtual Physiology Lab & Microcirculation discussion

Dr Simon Davies and Professor Monty Mythen

This Virtual Physiology Lab will focus on a haemorrhage model and will demonstrate the utility of Acumen HPI software in the management of haemodynamics, including the role of volume, flow, and pressure.

Part Three

Dynamic arterial elastance and contractility changes

Dr Simon Davies

Two concepts introduced in the virtual lab will be explored further, these being dynamic arterial elastance, Eadyn as well as contractility changes with dP/dt.

Part Four

The Australian experience with HPI

Associate Professor Laurence Weinberg

Laurence will dive deeper into how HPI helps improve decision-making in clinical practice. Five clinical cases are explored here.
